"Murder!" echoed Jaggard, his ruddy face growing pale. "And who, sir--" Major Jen shook it in his usual kindly manner, and moved a step toward the door of the summer-house. All at once he paused and looked back. "Naturally, you wish to know how the dead came to be alive, and for what reason I behaved as I did.
